Lion 1

    Newer Older

I created this model while I was working at LEGOLAND California for the Miniland Las Vegas area. It's the MGM Lion that stands guard over the casino.

Personally I feel this is probably one of the best models I've ever built, even though its only about a foot tall. The entire model is uncheated.

It took me about two-three weeks to make both the prototype and the glued final model.

J/G, Capt. 5p8c3, fe2cruz, and 18 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Nice. What do you mean by uncheated?

      I really like this!

The roundness / shaping you were able to manage using mostly just plates and tiles on the surface is so great.

(Animal MOCS are my absolute favourite). =)

Thanks everyone for liking my model. =)

Tiberium Blue -- when I say uncheated, I mean that all of it actually connects in one way or other. Sometimes, when people see a model like this at LEGOLAND and the models are all glued, they think that the tiles are just glued on to get the right effect. For my lion model this isn't the case. I made the entire model as an unglued prototype first and then I had to make a second glued on that is out in the park.

That I like. I want to get better at sculpture type work with my bricks. I imagine I'll be studying the high res photos of your work for some time.
