Thanks. They were trying to discourage me
from the buffalo and pushed for the Kingston
ram. A bit extra though. I'll probably grab
the buffalo's since it worked for you. I was
also thinking of upgrading the hd. What do
you think? Should I go for a smaller, more
expensive 7200rpm or a bigger, cheaper
5400rpm? :)

If you do upgrade the HD, I'd go 7200rpm for
sure. It makes everything faster. If you need
extra space, get extra external hard drives.
:) WD Passports are cheap if physical size
is a concern. Note that the 4 GB memory
upgrade may negate the needs of a faster
internal drive. I'd do the 4GB upgrade first
then re-evaluate.
Personally I keep a reduced size iTunes
library on my laptop drive, and keep my photo
archive on an external drive. That keeps lots
of room free on the 160GB 7200rpm internal,
including a few VMware images, extra software
from Macports, etc. My general rule of thumb
is to never exceed 80% capacity on a
filesystem, and I'm still able to keep all my
"core" workflow tools and data on
the internal drive.
