Happy Thanksgiving!

Sorry for my extended absence, it's been a wild ride.

As usual, Thanksgiving at our house is celebrated by a feast for the turkeys rather than of turkey :-)

Hope you all are well and happy, have missed you all more than I can say.

The Chase

After his spectacular dive, the osprey came up with his meal. He was chased by this seagull for about 4 minutes until he finally out flew the little thief and headed back inland to eat!

Moss Rock and I celebrate our 17th anniversary on Friday, and are leaving tomorrow to go soak in a hot spring, so I will be off until the weekend!

Mendocino

After taking the trash to the dump yesterday (we live rurally with no trash pickup) we went and sat on the Mendocino headlands for a while.

Watched cormorants and osprey fishing, and just enjoyed the beautiful day.

Thanks for lunch!

On our way home from Sacramento, we stopped in Lucerne, on the northern edge of Clear Lake. Moss Rock had some corn that had been blessed in a ceremony at the Sound Healing workshop she had been at in Colorado, so she decided to feed it to the ducks.

As she threw out the corn, some mother ducks arrived with their little ones, and to our surprise, the older ducks backed off and let the little ones eat!

After lunch they headed back out into the lake.
