The DoF is fantastic here! I wonder if the
composition could be a little stronger with
more "conceptual contrast" of the
King/Queen against the pawn... Maybe, maybe
not. I still like this shot =)
This is the white pawn making the first move
of the whole game.
He(?) is now in between black and white
without the possibility to go back. Maybe a
view from the top would have portrayed that
better.
Anyway even though on a conceptual level the
message could have been more clear from an
aesthetic point of view I am more than happy
and consider this photo as one of my
all-time-favorites. At least for now ;-)
D4Dee I can see that you are a very emphatic
person ;-)
Danke Coschda, so war es auch gemeint ...
Mittlerweile gelingt es mir immer öfter eine
Bild zu produzieren, dass so aussieht wie ich
es mir vorgestellt habe ;-)
Excellent Mariano, I linked to the shot for a
fotoclub discussion on lens basics for
beginners. It is a fine example of where a
shallow depth of field works very well. We
were only ten people and I did credit you.
Hope that was OK.

this is really cool. he looks very brave out there on his own - the littlest piece on the board, making the first move, knowing he can't go back.
