A photo of our home composting bin. I built this last fall out of mostly scrap materials we had in our garage. The side panels are roughly 36" X 36". California composting can be difficult because it is so dry here...but the rains of late have been helpful in getting this compost to "kick" and it is finally getting hot.

Hi,
I am making a page on composting @ www.Squidoo.com/dyi_composting. May I use a few of your CC pics on the topic?
Thank you, Sherry@papefacets

@Paperfacets - yes, please do use any of these photos for your composting page. I'm glad they may be of use to you.
@sarhana - my apologies for the delayed response, but the green handled tool is just a poker, I use it to 'stir' the compost, which adds air and accelerates the process (and it also keeps it from smelling bad!)
@carl, yes, please to add this photo to the compost group

Hey Matt,
I just used this sweet little photo of yours as our "Saturday Showcase" on our Facebook page. Thanks so much for sharing this with our Tribe of Compost Junkies.
How is the composting working out?

Awesome, CompostJunkieDave! Glad the photo is of use to you! Sadly my wife and I moved to an apartment in burlingame, ca that doesn't have a backyard, or even a side/front yard, that would be suitable for composting. The good news is that our county has a curbside greenwaste collection collection program.
At some point in the future I hope we have space to do our own onsite composting once again!
