Discovery World is an interactive museum located on the waterfront in Milwaukee, WI. They have this prominent renewable energy demonstration project in front of their building and it includes three different types of small scale wind and a solar PV tracking system. They also have a couple different southerly facing solar PV arrays on top of their building.
- Solar PV tracker. This array tracks the sun's movement throughout the day to optimize efficiency.
- Double bladed small scale wind turbine. This one seemed to be moving much, much more quickly than the other two triple bladed systems. Not sure why this is the case, but just wanted to drop in this observation. I wish the museum had some sort of kiosk showing real time energy output.
