Horse
I’ve always liked horses. I’m not a horse nut by any means, but I do like horses. There is something about these animals that inspires me. They are so elegant, yet so strong. They are so simple minded, yet so full of personality.
My own memories of horses are full of the smells of hay and manure. Seeing the horses in the dark and musty animal barn at the Hillsdale county fair, I so much desired to be a friend to them. They looked lonely and scared in their tiny stalls, and I just wanted to comfort them.
My cousin is crazy about horses. She went to a horse camp almost every year. Her room has been covered with posters of horses for as long as I can remember. The dream of every child to get a pony for Christmas was more than just a dream to her. It was a burning desire.
Right now, she is studying to be a horse veterinarian at the University of Finley. Her desire is to spend her life working with these animals, and I can see why. These are truly some of the most amazing creatures that God has designed.

Gorgeous in b&w, nice DoF and perspective. Horses are such wonderful creatures to photograph. (123)

I really like this: the shallow DoF, the framing, the detail of the whiskers on his face (are they called whiskers on horses? probably not...), the slightly grumpy bend of his mouth. You nailed it.

Fantastic job with the framing of this shot. The positioning of the horse lends itself to a great depth of perception view. The well-worn halter in combination with the b&w gives it a very rustic look. And you captured my favourite part-the nose. If you've ever felt a horse's nose, you'd know it's as smooth as velvet. And yes, those are whiskers!
