Don't you just hate it when your holiday lights get all twisted and tangled? Jadea is struggling to get her lights put up, but every time she starts to get them untangled.. she gets all tied and tangled up in the lights... we'd love to help her.. but it's much more fun to just sit and watch.

Favorite of the day yesterday!! Dahlia, Montana and I headed out to the beach for some fun summer shooting. We got several great new Zivity sets shot.. including this little gem.. Fill light provided by AB1600 1/8 power in a 20x30 softbox, powered by Vagabond II battery pack and fired by PocketWizard TT5 triggered by PocketWizard Plus II

As a photographer who often works TF* I find myself frequently working with new models. That can be difficult and frustrating at times, but is usually fairly rewarding as these girls are often impressed and encouraged by what they can do.. Every now and then, a new model comes along who really impresses me, who seems to possess a natural skill and beauty that puts them so at ease in front of the camera. Leo is one of these girls.

This is Leo Sun. Leo is a wonderful young lady, a local college student, and a friend of Ashley Mourning. When Ashley came to me and told me that she had another model for me.. I was reluctant... I trust Ashley implicitly.. but my workload has been so demanding here lately.. I just didn't have time for another new model. But... this is Ashley.. and I would do anything for Ashley... so I did... and I'm glad. Leo came over and helped us out with a set that Ashley and I did.. and I think that was a good experience for her. She was able to see what a photoshoot entails, and I think that went a long way toward putting her at ease with what was going to be expected of her.. and gave her a chance to work on some moves.
When she showed up on her shoot day, she was prepared.. and ready to impress, and impress she did! She went into model mode, like girls who have worked for years wish they could.. she posed, she engaged the camera.. this girl could do almost nothing wrong. I tried to direct her a few times.. but every time I did.. she'd hit a natural pose, and I just had to keep shooting... you gotta love a model like that.. you just gotta! We shot three sets that day.. and I am eager to shoot with her again.

Strobist Info: Two AB1600's Camera Left and Camera Right set at 1/16th power on 40 degree angles to blow out white seamless. Single AB1600 camera left in a 30x60 Paul C Buff Softbox set on 1/4 power. All lights fired by PocketWizard Flex5's and triggered by PocketWizard Plus II

I wanted to share this fun shot with you.. this one was done by one of my new models, Candy Lane. She is a roller derby girl, and wanted to do something to represent her sport. I'm thinking I need to go check out some Roller Derby action!! Strobist Info: 2x AB1600 for backdrop lighting, single AB1600 in a 30x60 softbox just off camera left all lights triggered by PocketWizards.

This is a beautiful set shot at a friend's beautiful home in the Portland West Hills.. Thank you GeoFx! Floofie donned this amazing and beautiful bathrobe, and I knew in an instant that I would need to use the window for that etherial glow with the light shining through it.. This particular shoot was a real challenge for me, as I don't often shoot wide open with my studio lights. Floofie is an amazing model, beautiful and elegant.. yet at the same time sexy.. this is a beautiful set.. if you have an opportunity, you should visit Zivity and check it out.
