Anti-war flash mob "freeze-in" in Union Station |
On the eve of the 5th anniversary of the
United States invasion of Iraq under the
Bush Administration, anti-war activists
staged a "flash mob" event in
Washington, DC's Union Station.
The event was peaceful and while it was
one thrust into the midst of the evening
rush hour, it didn't seem disruptive.
Initially station security and Amtrak
Police insisted that videographers of
all stripes weren't allowed to film (but
they didn't seem to approach still
photographers). Eventually they let up.
Perhaps the network news crews
complained, or maybe they realized the
inherent hypocrisy as tourists film in
the train station every day —
maybe a little of both.
