Ambassador Ayalon and former Speaker Newt Gingrich

Selected photos from a visit to the media stake-out outside FOX News on North Capitol street, where Israeli Ambassador Daniel Ayalon and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich spoke to the press after the taping of FOX News Sunday on August 6, 2006.

The Israeli Ambassador denied Israel was using cluster bombs. But previously his own government admitted as much (and equivocated on their rationale). Since, reports of child casualties from the cluster munitions have come out of Lebanon and reported in the Western press.

Gingrich claimed that there were Iranian soldiers in Southern Lebanon. When asked to source this claim, he was temporarily flustered until he turned his attention to a question on a different matter interjected by a CNN reporter.
