And why did you get credit for this image on TechCrunch? Were you the photographer of this image?

I've had "CC-by-SA by default" on all these images. This happened before with another image on a couple small blogs and I assumed someone hadn't had their cup of coffee or something (as it was obviously copyrighted.) Of course, I didn't change the license on it; that was my laziness.
I've changed the license on all images I haven't made entirely myself, except if they are already free to use.
You'd think that TechCrunch would realize that this is NOT CC material; besides, why mine? There are 1000s of other Picard images online. Did they think this one somehow differed or are they just ignorant? Is it some random helper on the site? I suppose they don't understand CC or maybe that this was from Star Trek, but it's still very odd.

I bet you're right. I bet some intern grabbed the image not realizing where this image is from or who Captain Picard is, but their editors should have had more sense.
