Is it the new "must have" accessory for Fall?

BTW, this easily fits into any of my purses.

If they added the right profiles, you could pair it with your iPhone and use when typing out emails!

Pam, yeah, I definitely don't mind being huge next to this thing.

I'm also hoping it'll help with my RSI (bilateral tendonitis on both arms!) as I don't have to reach for the mouse and overextend my right arm. I don't think I'll miss the numeric keypad in this case.

Yes, I will definitely be monitoring how my hands/arms feel with this new keyboard. I'll let you know if it helps!

A trackball stops my mousing hand from hurting.

Trackballs seem to be made with people with bigger hands in mind. I tried it and never really got the hang of it. And the mouse or base itself is always a bit big.

I have this trackball:

I use it at home. I'd bring it to work, but we've had recent theft in the library, and I like it so much I don't want to lose it.

I have the Microsoft trackball, which they don't make any more and now go for silly money on eBay. If mine breaks, I'll have to give up computers and go become a medic or farmer or something.

Apple keyboards don't have scroll lock. Not since ADB days i.e. a long time ago.

I need to scavenge for those MS trackballs if that's true! I don't know about you being a farmer, to be honest.

What is the scroll lock for? I've never used it so I guess I don't know what it really does.

Pam, that sucks to hear about the theft. I think there's some equipment being nicked off some desks here as well, but I haven't heard of any lately. However, most thefts seem to be food related. There are notes to food thiefs posted on two fridge doors that I've seen, and those are in two different buildings. I really don't understand why people nick other people's food.

Yeah, it's weird because where I work in the library is staff-only...

Food theft is just mean!

Oh. :( Hmm. That sucks. I hope it's a one time thing only.

Yeah, food theft does not make sense, especially when there are so many people who bring food in and are willing to share it!

Scroll lock used to be used to change the way cursor keys worked - in a time before mice, the scroll lock key switched the mode to move the screen around, rather than the cursor. These days some software like Excel uses it. but rarely anything else. It's an anachronism.

You aren't alone. Only old timers like me (who know what a "Gold Key" means for example) would remember it.

Speaking of unneccesary keys, I'm all for banning the Caps Lock key. What a waste of space THAT one is.

No, definitely should keep the Caps Lock key. How else can mothers annoy their more tech savvy children?

Looks awesome - but how's the travel? It doesn't look like a good keyb for fast , eyes-on-the-monitor extended typing.
