EastLake Seattle Website

EastLake Seattle Website by thePLOWblog.
Here is the final site design for a church in Seattle. We wanted to go with a clean simple look, but still have room for a good amount of text. The right side bar is java script drop down that will have the important info for each section. The main graphic will rotate through events and photos. And the lower videos will play in the main section when clicked. We also have the background to be changeable, so the site can have a refreshed look easily.

Shiny happy people here? I hope that's a suggestion for the site image, and not a description of the attendees of the church.

It was a joke for the pastor. He did not want happy fake stock people.

Russell {Bear} Brown says:

just for your reading pleasure: Stock Photography Sucks

"All true, but remember too that "stock people" never get divorced, have an embarrassing outburst or situation in the church, cheat on their husbands or wives, have a baby out of wedlock or get recognized at a local bar. In many ways, stock people are safer. I actually had an experience about 10 years ago shooting a family of four for our church brochure--the couple separated about two weeks after the brochure came out. Out of respect for the situation we trashed about $4,000 worth of brochures. Bummer." - Gene Mason

RB, yeah good point about stock photos. There is good and bad in both. I would rather use real people, makes the viewer feel like there are real people at the church. Most of the time stock people look too good for me as well. Perfect people with perfect lives. I don't think that is the case for most people. Very lame about the brochure though, that is horrible.

It looks great here - I just joined the group and this is the one thumbnail that jumped out at me from the gallery.

Thought you should know though, that when I went to the live site the pics only loaded the top 1/4 to 1/3 the first time around.
