I just think dogs dressed up is humiliation for the poor things, they always look so sad. Im sure they would rather be out in the woods doing what comes naturally to them or even pounding the street looking for lamp posts ! Why do people feel the need to do this to their animals........substitute children maybe ?

I think fairygirl538 should follow the old saying..."If you can't say something nice....don't say anything at all!"
I LOVE this pic!!! Just total cuteness!!

to address the above comment- my dogs dont even notice when they have clothes on. they wear costumes on halloween and love the attention and treats they get for cooperating. they also wear rain coats and protective boots in the cold, rain, and snow, WHILE they are out in the woods doing what the love. my pit bull has no fat or undercoat to keep her warm so otherwise would be miserable going snowshoeing without clothes on. and try owning any hairless or single coated dog in seattle or other cold climate and never put a sweater or coat on it. they shiver the entire time they are outside and are miserable. Im really sick of people complaining about clothes for dogs. as long as the dogs are properly desensitized to wearing clothes (and many dogs just accept them right away without any dislike) what does it matter? sure, some people who get dogs as fashion accessories may dress them up, but MANY great dog owners ALSO put clothes on their dogs sometimes. it is just the most ridiculous argument.
sorry for the rant on your photo page. ;) I was really excited to see a familiar face on the flickr blog and wanted to come say congrats!

I was just commenting on a discussion found elsewhere on flickr about dogs dressed up and this was an example photo, the discussion being if it right or wrong to dress dogs up. I do agree with functional coats for dogs ie reflective for night walks, protective for such breeds as greyhounds and other fine coats in winter etc but my opinion is that fluffy pink get ups, fashion clothing etc is just fun for the owner not the dog, in our local pet shop they even sell a baby buggie for people to push their lickle baby in........im sure the dogs would rather walk it, sniffing the odd lamp post or another dogs butt that they may pass on route !!! I do also agree that it is usually better to say nothing rather than something bad so sorry if I have offended anyone................Have a nice day one and all :)

If they didn't like it I wouldn't do it....we have 4 dogs and only 1 of them doesn't like to wear clothes, therefore you'll never see her in a costume. My chihuahua would freeze to death in the winter if she didn't wear a coat outside. She walks around shivering the whole time....put a coat on her and she's happy as can be, running around the yard like the rest of them. My dogs get treated better than most people's children, and I would NEVER do anything to harm them or embarass them. If you look at Belle's face, she is happy as can be and loves the attention and cookies she gets. Thanks to everyone who left comments! :)

The only thing that could make that funnier is to have a spider monkey on top!

Your noble steed looks like my dog. They are both adorable, the costume idea is incredibly creative, and it's not like you torture them by putting clothes on them every day. Don't let the negativity get you down.
