• Be kind, rewind ;-) - Smoochi
  • so old school, I don't even think I own a tape player that works now... though was thinking about getting one of these as a retro touch to my computer... =)
Lovely shot by the way! - thom21

Sounds from the past

It's been quite a while since I listened to one of these.

There is no label and it was in an unmarked cassette cover, so it is a real mystery tape... It has obviously been used for something since it has a few scratches and wasn't completely rewound.

Added to Cream of the Crop as my 'most interesting' picture as of September 17th.

This photo has been #10 in explore.

Me too. oh, the good ole days of the mix tape. This is a cool photo though. Very modern, almost ironically so. Looks like it belongs in an Apple store. Great.

    Excellent piccie.

That white background and the 'X-Ray' look make it work for me.

    congratulations!

@ Olivia Leigh: I tried photographing a few different cassettes that I found in my 'old' record-collection today, but this semi-transparent and slightly colored one was the best choice by far. It resulted in a nice contrast (as you commented) - a 'modern' photo of something that most people consider old fashioned today.

@ All: Thanks for your comments and feedback - I really appreciate it :)

I haven't seen one for a good while. Very nicely done - the purple tone adds some 80's ads feel to it too.

It's very retro-modern. CDs have far less room for design, and make for dull photo subjects.

right, i haven't seen it for a long time.

but yeah, there are still cassete tapes working in various parts of the world, and sometime i get 'troubled' when i receive some cassette of local songs from the locale people.

interesting, that object is getting into the world of antique, while it does have his original function...
