"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before." ~Edgar Allan Poe
I've always been both intrigued and terrified by horror films. Some love the adrenaline rush, while I hate it. Still I'm drawn to them--especially a cult classic like Friday the 13th. Back in the day I would sleep with the light on after taking one in, but today I watch and laugh and wonder what the hell had me so shook--especially Nightmare on Elm Street which today seems like pure comedy. But a good horror flick can still make me wish my house wasn't so big! lol!
To honor the love/hate relationship I have with this particular genre--and to add some spice to my typical photographic direction I decided to try my hand at scaring myself. A test shoot for sure, but I think effective nonetheless. My basement is pretty creepy on a good day; turn off the lights, add a mask and a tree-pruner and suddenly I'm like "why the hell am I doing this again?" lol!
