The Flaming Lips.

This was shot during their hour-long setup and bug-fixing the enormous LED curtain. The show gave way to sensory overload and I ditched out. The music is a trip but Wayne's stage presence is painfully banal.

The Decemberists

These folks take their art seriously. They performed their new concept album (rock opera) in its entirety, with a jaw-dropping animated film to go with it. Most folks I talked to were disappointed to not get a sing-along experience of familiar hits. I thought it was ballsy and awesome. Can't wait to see the DVD version.

Featuring guest vocalists Becky Stark (Lavender Diamond) and Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond) -- who was *amazing*.
