i'm HIDING, Baba!
it's my Magic Disguise ...
you! Cannot! See! Me ...!
the geek behind the curtain: all shots and layers in this assemblage were taken and developed by myself.
one shot, five layers. when i was assembling my gear for the Camo shot last night little E said, "ooooh! can i wear that one??" a volunteer model is always appreciated. =))
derby hat, geezer glasses with ocular attachements, paper mustache, and magic.
there's a color layer on bottom, then a sharpened layer, then a blurry layers, then a layer of shadows added on top. lots dodging and burning. also, used a brush i hadn't heard of before until reading a tutorial for starfields -- the GIMP "sparks" brush. used it in regular mode around the lamp and in eraser mode around the bottom of little E (applied to the shadow layer, which revealed her in little randomized splotches) to give here that dissolve effect.
some people might want to point out to me (it happens) that the selective coloring is jagged and splotchy. that's on purpose. i wanted it to look like it was selective-colored with a crayon. if i knew how to make it more jagged and splotchy i would have done it. i tried a few experiments and then gave up until another day.
about an hour on this one.
