UPDATE: I entered 'Family Cycle Train' in the Bicycle Mania photo contest a few weeks ago and today I received an e-mail telling me that this picture won! First prize is a special edition Workcycles Secret Service bicycle, a copy of the book Bicycle Mania, the photo will appear in the March (10) edition of The Xpat Journal and is of today on display in The American Book Center in Amsterdam and The Hague.

This lady could never imagine that her family would soon become cherished by thousands in a split second. Had the little one at the front known she was about to be photographed for the world to admire, perhaps she might not have fake peddling :-)

thanks, but no, it doesn't miss helmets. Everyday cycling isn't dangerous & bike helmets are not designed to 'save lives', if that's what you're getting at. Statistics speak volumes, Netherlands: highest rates of cycling in the world, lowest casualty rates in the world. You'd basically be saying that all Dutch (parents) are irresponsible. Now that would be silly, not?
