Through the Mist

Through the Mist

My personal interpretation of 'portraits in landscapes' as part of the my Photography course.

I didn't have the correct lens on at the time and it was freezing so this photo is actually a combination of roughly 20 photos taken at 50mm and merged as a panorama (120mb big!)

Exams next week... eugh.

Vatnsleysufoss, Iceland

Vatnsleysufoss, Iceland

Vatnsleysufoss/Faxi is located just of the Golden Circle in the Haukurdalur region. We had lunch here on our way to Gulfoss & the Geysers and even came back later in the week when the weather was much better.

Despite being just off the main route, there are hardly any tourists and the few buses that do visit this waterfall tend to stop at the top of the hill rather than coming right down and getting the view of the salmon jumps.

Sigma 10-20mm - 1/4s @ f/22

Strokkur Geyser, Iceland

Strokkur Geyser, Iceland

A blend of HDR and images at several exposures. Strokkur is the only active geyser in the Haukandalur valley which is located in South West Iceland. I set my camera up on a tripod and waited for the geyser to erupt, which is fairly frequent at 5/10 minute intervals. I'd originally set up my camera where the people in the photo are gathered... but I wasn't expecting the eruption to be so tall at 30 metres high!

Canon 450D + Sigma 10-20mm (at 11mm)
