Meeting Sarah Dessen

Sarah Dessen appearance in Naperville, IL (July 11, 2009)

I finally had the opportunity to meet Sarah Dessen, one of my favorite authors from when I was in high school. I've been reading her books for about eight years now. Here are little descriptions of each photo:

1. Sarah & Me: I was able to get the majority of my copies of Sarah's books signed. I was also able to tell her how much I've loved her books, ever since I was a teen, and had the chance to introduce her to "my Dexter"-- Shawn!

2. Me holding my copy of 'This Lullaby': That's the original copy (first edition, hardcover) I bought back in high school. It's important to me because of the parallels between the two main characters (Remy & Dexter) and Shawn & me.

3 & 4. These are two small photos of the reading guide that was handed out for Sarah's book tour. Sadly, I was only able to grab one of these before they ran out!

Sunny Day Plum

As noted in my photo from this afternoon, I was having fun sitting outside in the pretty sunlight today. I thought it would be fun if Plum joined me in her little swimsuit.

We just got back inside a few minutes ago, after watching the sun set for a while. It was a very relaxing day.

Dreamy Days Like Today

I'm sitting outside on my pretty new patio, listening to Mazzy Star while browsing my usual sites online. It's hot out and the sun keeps coming and going. It's just one of those perfect, dreamy days-- a good day for thinking.

The photos show me, in the moment, and what I can see from where I am.

(I took the photos with my Mac's cam, which explains the lack of quality. =p)
