Cloud Gate to Millenium Park

Cloud Gate to Millenium Park by Miles_78.
From the official site:

Cloud Gate is British artist Anish Kapoor's first public outdoor work installed in the United States. The 110-ton elliptical sculpture is forged of a seamless series of highly polished stainless steel plates, which reflect the city's famous skyline and the clouds above. A 12-foot-high arch provides a "gate" to the concave chamber beneath the sculpture, inviting visitors to touch its mirror-like surface and see their image reflected back from a variety of perspectives.

Inspired by liquid mercury, the sculpture is among the largest of its kind in the world, measuring 66-feet long by 33-feet high. Cloud Gate sits upon the At&T Plaza, which was made possible by a gift from AT&T.

Wow that IS cool. It's perfectly liquid, love it. It would make great inspiration for an Arcos style lamp! It would make a cool place to live.

Great bit of cool public art, but this chrome is so much more polished than the brushed steel on my Arco Lamp.

Ahhh lovely. And how do you find your Arco? I just ordered one from mojo but the wife is protesting that it's ubiquitous! Errr, yes it's all over the show BECAUSE IT'S A DESIGN CLASSIC- let's see MOMA, the design Museum etc. You should have heard what he said about the Barcelona chair. Frightening sounds.

I find my Arco by sitting on my Eames lounger and looking up. It is lovely, it is an original by Flos lighting and NOT a cheap knock off. Your ceilings better be high enough and the floor strong enough as the marble block weighs 60kg.
I got my Arco a few years ago for £700 and something from furniturefile. the price has since risen £859. www.furniturefile.co.uk/retail-2.htm
Mojo is where I got my Eames from and although the Arco they sell probably won't be by Flos it is still a bargin at £300. Tell your WIFE to quit complaining. BTW Tom Dixon's Mirrorball ceiling pendant light go really well with the Arco.
