Valley Forge - 2nd PA Valley Forge Winter 2010

I have spent the last two days in Valley Forge recording the festivities. Yesterday a fine regiment of re-enactors, The 2nd Pennsylvania Regiment, interpreted the events of the American Revolution for a very cold but receptive crowd. It was quite a scenic session. The conditions were great; snow, slush, mud, and bitter wind. When you combine that with a regiment of 35 en-actors or so, in accurate period attire with firelocks, artillery and live fire, it simply does not get any better. It WAS 1777-1778 all over again. Chilling, literally.

I had the pleasure of doing a portrait of the Regiment and, in turn, interpreted it as a vintage piece that hopefully feels as cold as it was that day.

Hip, hip, huzzah, to the 2nd PA.

Chill out on black.
