Winter riding sure has it's challenges in Ottawa. For the best ride, keep your tires properly inflated . . . If you can find your tires! This bike might pass the winter out here since the forecast is calling for 60 cms or 24 inches of snow with 2 winter storms on the way in a weather event that local meteorologists are calling 'Snow-megaddon!' City transit buses are still on strike. Downtown traffic is choked at rush hour as a result! Glad I don't drive anymore. Phew! 'Snow-megaddon' Warning Here>

Thanks Rich! Hey Stef! Apparently the transit strike vote was motivated by scheduling concerns says CBC radio. A lot of people are sure inconvenienced by the transit union's action. Maybe they are counting on that to prompt a swift resolution but from what I hear, the Mayor is not budging much! You need a 'winter bike' similar to this vintage 3-speed. Visit "The Bike Dump" on Catharine St. and tell Dave that Mike sent you! bikedump.com/

Seriously, I remember winter days where it was +10 one day, and -30 the next; that's not unexpected there.

More bikes than I've seen on the road in December ever thanks to the bus strike. It's not quite so bad as it sounds (having cycled through many winters). Sometimes it is even safer than walking.
