Heavy traffic

Meeting the locals on the Tiger Leaping Gorge trek on the high track. The Gorge is on the Yangtze river North of Lijiang in Yunnan, South West China.

rg250871 it is a Nikon Coolpix 5700, my first digital camera but I still use when on harder treks as it is light and small in comparison to a 20D and still provides quality shots.

beautiful shot. reminds me of my very first travels. I visited this gorge in '95. they were threatening to build a road through the gorge. did they ever? doesn't look like it. still as beautiful.

zphoto, yes when we were there, they were well on the way to completing the road through the gorge.Fortunately it followed the old 'low track route" which leaves the high track route basically untouched. So its still possible to enjoy the trek over in the traditional way.
