Almost There

The leather used in these goggles is called "attic", and has the strange properties of turning black when rubbed, light tan when stretched, and costing a fortune :/

(UPDATE: I've long since finished the goggles. On a related note, Anticz used these for inspiration and built an unbelievable cool pair out of titanium, you can see pictures in his gallery.)

sure thing! there's a leather warehouse in my town which i bought the material from. you'll probably have to dig around in your own hood to find a similar outfit.

for the brass i've been pretty happy with www.metalsupermarkets.com/ , which i discovered at the makers faire this year. there is also www.onlinemetals.com

The rings are hand made from .125" brass rod, and the eyepieces are 2" brass rounds.
