Cumberland Knob/Gully Creek

Yesterday, while I was walking with the Yorkie down to Gully Creek I found a couple cool places I wanted to photograph. I either bring the dog or the tripod, not normally both. Hence a return visit today.
I have been through here probably 6 times or so and always seem to spot new places along the creek to photograph.
The creek is running a bit high so the little off shoots are flowing, which makes for a nice scene. The sun was just starting to hit the trees in the background, so this was the last shot of the day, after around 2.5 hrs of crawling around:)
The best part is, being in the off season a guy can get this whole valley all to himself:)

I set out yesterday with my main objective being creating a black and white photograph. Here is what I was able to get.

This is Rob and Lauren. I met Rob from my new job and he is the guy who gave me my first rooster! His rooster is much prettier than mine:) And mine has a very distinct, mangy crow.
We also took some maternity photos earlier in the day after being treated to a nice lunch.
I will post one of those later, now I'm off to Knoxville for some training:)

This is a leaf that was catching some rays at the sandy base of Stone Mountain Falls, in Stone Mountain State Park, NC. It's a 200ft waterfall/cascade type thing that is pretty cool to see. You should go take a look, it's off the Blue Ridge Parkway:)

Between work with 3hr drives roundtrip and being fairly sick I haven't been able to produce much lately as far as photography goes. This was shot just off the back porch, they sure do look cooler in person than in a photograph:) But then again, so does everything else:)
