Rio Vista, CA: All day long, the sky was looking amazing, so I decided to head up into Solano County at sunset to hopefully shoot some colors. Well, I chased up and down hwy 12 and 113 looking for a suitable composition that would line up behind the most interesting grouping of clouds. At one point some fantastic sun rays were beaming down onto a barn, but by the time I could line up a good comp and find a place to park, alas they were long gone. Back in the car and ended up on an unpaved road for several miles which really slowed me down. Then, the pink colors started to show and I knew I'd need to hunker down and just shoot. I made for one of my usual windfarms and to my luck, the gate was left unlocked so I went in and tried to frame up a shot. The pink sky lasted less than 5 minutes and then it turned completely flat.
