Fireworks on Planet Krypton
No... This is not a new photo. I just changed the date. This is one of my favorite fireworks shot's I have ever taken. It was one of the first photos I ever uploaded on flickr. One year ago today, on July 4th, 2007, I opened up this photo. It had been up on flickr for 8 months. It had something like 30 views, and 0 comments. 0 faves. I was thinking, 'How can I top this shot?' Then I realized... Hell... Nobody has even looked at the damn thing. So I deleted it, and re-posted it. Now it's got over 9000 views, over 100 comments, over 100 faves... What the hell??? Crazy !!!!!!!!!
These bizarre otherworldly rocks at the end of the Manasquan inley jetty have always reminded me of some kind of Kryptonite. This was a great fireworks show to photograph because I was looking west. The sun had set recently enough that you could still see some color in the sky behind the fireworks. I tried the Orton effect but found it made the fireworks look icky (technical term). So, I deselected them and added Orton to everything but the fireworks. Commentsjustasungod says:Wow sweeet shot and great treatment! SanyamStudios

the display of color between the twilight sky, the fireworks and the reflected color in the water is awesome with lots of patterns and design.
