Mooney Falls
Well, here it is. This is the last of the three waterfalls from the Havasu trip. Mooney Falls. Mooney is the tallest one, it's the farthest one in, and if you go down to the bottom, it is the scariest. This was taken at the bottom. I made it down. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it down. I have a really bad fear of heights, but I did it. To get to the bottom of Mooney, you have to come down about a 300 foot cliff. The first hundred or so is fine. That's just switchbacks. The second hundred is interesting, but a bit claustraphobic. You have to squeeze into this little narrow cave that goes down through the canyon wall. When you come out of the cave is when it gets interesting. The last hundred feet, you have to scale down the side of a cliff, hanging onto a chain, with an occasional metal peg sticking out of the rock to either hold onto, or use as a foothold. It was interesting. I would not look foreward to doing it again.
