blame it on the rain

My apartment is a craphole, no two ways about it. However, its location (barely out of town but next to a small forest and pond) is kind of nice if you want to see wildlife. I've encountered many beasts, from deer to eagles to shrews, in the area.

Frogs are the most common by far, and the heavy rain brings them out. Tonight there were three of them sitting in the small dry spot in front of my door. I snapped a photo of this one just before it decided to make a mad dash for the apartment. It almost succeeded, but alas...I was too quick shutting the door. With all of the critters running around here, I've become quite a skillful door-shutter.
