Night time over the black mountains

Shot over Abergavenny from the black mountains, this is my first outing with long exposure night photography.

The wind was fierce while this shot was exposing... I think i need to weigh the tripod down a little more next time, I am not sure if those star trails are actually camera shake!

Night time over the black mountains.

First outing with the camera after dark.

The scene is lit by moonlight and exposed to the camera over 4 minutes.

In the distance is Abergavenny, its artificial light illuminating the clouds with a yellow tinted hue!

Thanks to a neighbour of ours who drove up to the mountains and accompanied me to the top of one of the smaller hills.

Sunset over the hills

Taken through our upstairs window using my iPhone, last night's sunset was beautiful.

The photo is unchanged from the iPhone's shot aside from a little cropping, noise reduction and darkening the bottom 3rd to remove the distractions of the kids swings.
