Slate hut
Nature takes back over inside this little hut - they've used a narrow grade railway rail for the beam across the top of the roof

Tunnel back down
There were lots of these tunnels leading all sorts of directions, but mostly leading back down the hill - this one was the only one we got inside

Stone Walls
these were once part of the quarry complex- housing offices, equipment, or even homes. All that's left now are these walls.

Wheel/Motor house
Planted at the top of a shallow incline - this building would have housed pulleys used to haul rock and supplies up and down the slope

Level
This was a level cut through the rock to allow easier access to the working sides of the quarry

Causway
This causeway was shored up by these hand-placed slabs of slate - it's maybe 30m high

Sheep
Quarry complex
these ruins are all that's left of what looked to be a fairly substantial complex to service the quarries

Abandoned hut
Tunnel
The interesting thing here is that the lake is overflowing into this tunnel and then just disappearing into the rocks, at quite a rate too.
