Los Angeles::Pasadena Freeway (SR-110)
Also known as the "Arroyo Seco Parkway", completed in 1941, it is the first freeway in the United States. This section of southbound lanes was constructed and opened in 1943. This photo was taken from Park Row Bridge built in 1942. At that time, except for the Los Angeles Central Library built in 1926, none of the buildings in the skyline visible from here existed.
