hogback dawn![]() Dawn over the hogback that separates Ken-Caryl Ranch from metro Denver on my way to work. If you look at the photo at higher resolution you can see some purple fringing along the silhouette of the foothills. I don't know if there's some way I could have prevented this or if it's an inherent limitation of the camera (Canon S2). The exif data says 1/13 sec exposure, f/3.2 aperture, 9.7 mm focal length. Come to think of it I seem to remember another photograph that I took with the zoom set at wide-angle with a roof against a sky that had fringing.

I didn't realize when I posted this picture that many image editing applications have facilities for removing "fringing", also known as "chromatic aberration".
