Weeding with Hori-Hori
Preparing iris patch for new season.
Yesterday I sliced my left thumb by not paying attention.
Recommend this garden tool not only for weeding but planting, and thinning out roots. Invented in Japan to use while collecting bonsai specimens in the forest.
My parents had a gardener, John, I would watch him
As he used his Hori-Hori , he was a master gardener . Those were the days before the mow and blow types of today.
John passed many years ago and his son tried to keep the family business going but gave up and finished his education.

A chore I do not look forward to, well that and cleaning out the vegetable "rotter" in the fridge. Wow, am I becoming a cranky old man. Just do it.
