I went to Emerald City Comicon today. And so to add to the ever-growing list of celebrity appearances here in my 365 Days set, I proudly present to you: Wil Wheaton.

Yup. And it totally made my day. I mean, sure I hated the whiny-ness of Wesley Crusher as much as any other level-headed trekkie back in the day, but really... this guy started out as a talented kid (who out there doesn't love the film Stand By Me?) and is still a working actor now, which isn't something many child stars manage.

Plus he's just really such a personable guy. The person in front of me in line for autographs got a photo signed to his wife because she was at home minding the kids (on mother's day no less) so he could go to the con. And then the guy called his wife and Wil chatted with her on the phone, wished her happy mothers day, and told her nobody was having any fun at all without her. It was cute and amusing and totally cool of him.

(and I'm now officially even dorkier... I just flickrmailed this photo to Wil to say thanks for posing like a total rockstar with me.)

AND now the circle is complete. because Wil Wheaton has faved this image!! (thank you sir, for so totally rocking my socks.)

Mav: I was a little too distracted by the geeky goodness to pimp the comic to him directly. But I mentioned it to people and most of them didn't run away screaming. I shoulda made cards with the website to pass out.

fuzzirella: sweet! He really is awesome. I mean, I work with actors all the time and have rarely seen such genuine friendliness as his in that difficult and ego-fueled profession. Can't wait to see what he was doing in your shot :)

dionwrbear: well... he was in town this weekend so it kinda makes sense that we'd all have just seen him and want pictures. Although maybe it really just says more about the geekiness of people you have as your contacts. ;)

Stephen Poff: well we're gonna make an even bigger one! Time to take over the world!!! um. or something like that. And I think I watched Stand By Me at every single slumber party from when it came out until I stopped going to slumber parties. Love that film to bits.

amanky: I'm sorry you didn't get to go... I actually had no idea he'd be there... I just had a friend who wanted to go to comicon and asked if I'd tag along. And he was pretty amused at my sqee-ing and rushing to get in line to meet Wil when I found out he was there. :)

heath_bar: I think it might have been the fact that you could see him while snapping the shot so he behaved himself. I had no idea he'd made that face until I looked at my camera after. Of course, it could be the girl-coming-around-the-table-to-put-arms-arou nd-him factor too :)
