Plum Wine-mokume gane mirror
This is my entry into the November Challenge of the Polymer Clay
Artists Guild of Etsy (PCAGOE). The challenge was
to create something using the mokume gane technique.
Mokume gane process, as it translates to clay, is to layer
colors of clay and make impressions in the clay. Then you
slice of thin layers, revealing amazing colors and patterns. It's
really fascinating, I'm always surprised by patterns that emerge.
I had been looking at Goth and Steampunk styles when I should have
been working on my Challenge piece. When I finally started my mirror I
didn't realize I was
melding Goth and mokume gane. I rather like it, I hope you
do too.
approximately 3 inches wide by 7 1/4 inches long, 1/4 of an inch thick. The mirror is 1 1/2 inches square.

I didn't know that steampunk had a name. I knew I liked it and
was fascinated to find there is a name for it.
I just might have to take you up on the geek talk pollyhyper!
