TYPHOON ONDOY AFTERMATH....

mud and garbage everywhere...
that's easy enough to clean...
it's the death toll... the missing persons---- adults and children, alike.... the devastation wrought on thousands of homes across the region...
those are the things that are not so easily erased from the mind.... thank goodness for kind-hearted people who has taken it upon themselves to help out and donate what they can...

We Filipinos are nothing if not resilient, persevering, resourceful and, by God, forever in search for that elusive silver lining... we have been faced time and again with a series of tragedies such as corrupt officials, typhoons, el ninos, la ninas, water shortage, food shortage... one thing we do NOT have a shortage of, however, is our will to survive.... yes, this recent destruction hurt us a great deal... and yes, it has tested and tried our tough nature... but that's all... tried and tested, we will find a way to overcome this as surely as we can rebuild all that has been lost.... material things are all they are... swept away in the flood... lives were lost, too... but i take pride in the fact that the Filipinos can take what Fate has dealt us... and emerge stronger than ever....
