Miniopolis, Critical Massive 2011

Miniopolis, Critical Massive 2011

I don't know the official title of this piece, or if it was even on the art map at all. I started to think of it as Miniopolis. No fake tilt shift on this, just shooting wide open a few minutes after sunrise with the 85mm f1.8. I sure love the bokeh!

Sunrise, Critical Massive 2011

Sunrise, Critical Massive 2011

I got there late. As in, just before first light. Everyone was asleep. Which was of course just fine as far as the shootin' was concerned. This one is a 9-frame hdr at f22, iso 100, just because I could.

Amazon.com Headquarters: Looming larger than life

Amazon.com Headquarters: Looming larger than life

Amazon.com Headquarters: Looming larger than life - I used to work in this building. 40 hours a week...hah, right, 40. That was about eight years ago. Went back to shoot this when the Holiday star was lit, and that's why it has all those weird colors on top. The field of view is way over what a planar projection wants to deal with, so I messed with it until I thought iot was marginally better than the alternatives. 14mm rectilinear, heavy tripod, big-ass bogen head. 3 x 9 raw +/- 4 EV to tiff, then smushed to hdr, then actuallu stitched inside CS5, tonemapped in Photomatix, then some lr/ps tweaks. Peter Hudson's project Charon featured life sized animatronic rowing skeletons. It was awesome.
