    All Momi-crew + Ayano.
Now I wonder if they are from one okiya.
Momiyuki might be even an oneesan of Momiju&Momifuku...
And I remember Momiju`s hiki worn by Chizu.
    Pontocho is weird...

I don't see Momiju... I think that's Chizu. Momiju is a senior now.

  9. Vatemia (18 months ago | reply)

Aww... Chizu! OMG I did not recognized her... She looks quite mature now. (Despite the red collar)

Ah - that time of year once again for kabuki. This brings back memories for me of December 2009. Terrific photo Momoyama.

So this year it's Pontocho's maiko & geiko who go the first in Minamiza Theatre. Chizu definitively reminds me Momiju here ! Momifuku is a very cute junior maiko, I would like to see more photos of her.

Ayano still doesn't tie her obiage, she's been senior for so long, longer than Mitsuna and Shinaju. I love Momifuku's kimono :)

You made a similar picture of just one maiko (or was ist a geiko? can't remember) in ponto-chô, which has been my favourite picture of yours so far. But I guess I like this one even better. It's just brillant how you use that moderate tele to compress the street. Then this perfect group of a geiko and three maiko in beautiful cloth. The heads are perfectly arranged and even the face expressions are perfect. And on top of that there is this nice collage of all the signs of restaurants, bars and tea-houses.

It's a very very nice shot!

  34. Vatemia (18 months ago | reply)

Yup, TillScheel, it was taken 2 years ago on December 1st.

Have you any plans of publishing a book of this set? I would buy it IMMEDIATELY. You can self publish on blurb or other places. I hope you will. I think this is my favorite photo set on all of Flickr. I have viewed hundreds of thousands(maybe millions) of photos...since I went pro in 2007. I could stare at your photos for hours...daily.
