      There were so many people out today watching these creatures.
      It's hard not to see the irony - these towns were established and grew as a result of the whaling industry (The then colony of South Australia's first industry) By the 1850's whales here were almost extinct with the last whale being caught at Victor Harbour in 1872. *
      They still attract us, but thankfully today we're shooting with a far different implement.

      Thanks Gail, yep it was great watching them slowly swim past us.
      They're becoming quite a common yearly tourist attraction! As they migrate from the Antarctic oceans during the winter months to raise their young in these warmer waters.
      Unfortunately for Jules, they only come in these rather drab grey colours - didn't see any colourful ones at all.

      Alice, I've got a pic too of a whale , but i'ts very small in mine....Michael managed to get the best shots while i held the dogs hehe..

      great catch, the funny thing is that my whale shots were taken at Middleton beach, but in Albany western Australia
