Maputo Railway Station with its very pretty Victorian era steel roof structure. Home to the Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique, which is a lot more romantic than saying Mozambican Railways. Apparently it starred in the recent Leonardo diCaprio Blood Diamond movie.

Passengers from the MSC Sinfonia cruise ship explore Portuguese Island near Maputo in Mozambique. It also looks a bit like a scene from a zombie movie.

On my recent travels to Istanbul, we stayed within a few minutes walk from the Blue Mosque. The morning routine quickly became one of waking up before dawn with the call to prayer, and stumbling bleary-eyed to the mosque. What was an overly-crowded tourist attraction all day, was always peaceful and almost empty at this time.

The road between Montagu and Ashton, South Africa, passes through a small tunnel with a Boer War fort above it, and this shot was taken at sunset from adjacent to the fort.
