googled, found your photostream after seeing your featured article on dailymail. forwarded to me by someone who thought this was right up my alley, and they were right!

it is hard to choose a favorite but found this one especially appealing.

The muted color of the background for one (which i've seen more than once on the photostream and rather like the effect), contrasted with the girl/lollipop being more bright stand out to me. It just really impresses the subtle yet quite apparent fact that it is essentially a layered photo.

I also like the placement of the girl's braids and the whispiness of her hair (considering the background) - giving the whole shot a very 'snapshotty' feel. . . a good thing. It's almost like "hey lemme snap this pic real quick of my kid eating a lollipop" when really it was totally staged and probably took a lot of retakes to get it positioned 'just right'.

Not to mention the lighting, contrast is perfect - and I can see your hand in the very bottom of the photo - signaling to me that you were reaching out to nudge the object right into position, whilst focusing from behind yur lens - not a task easily accomplished I'm convinced.

All this rant and all I really want to say is - WOW!

I know this photo was a lot of hard work and it shows, and deserves to be acknowledged, even prasied.

This photo is one of many I admire on your photostream. kudos on the whole set!

Well thank you and you surmised right for all of it - nice work! This picture is very important to me for three reasons
1) it's a nice picture of my daughter who cooperated wonderfully and even gave the lolli up afterwards.
2) it was the first of the series where I consciously worked a human interaction into the picture
3) it produced the sporting rules of the set which say that I have to look for a Souvenir at the place that I have chosen and not bring one with me. (I had brought a resin lamp in the form of Pisa from home which did not work and Marion found this wonderful Lolli on a stand nearby)

Type of camera that you used to take this picture is Nikon right? But can you please tell me about the description of the camera, and range of the camera from the object...... and the ISO....

Nikon F5, 20mm 2.8 lens, Fuji 400 asa film about 30cm from the camera. Scanned on a Nikon 8000ED. Depth of field around f16 at 60 sec I guess
