To celebrate that I’ve finished my tenth watch, I wanted to share a little bit of the workflow and technique that I’ve been using for these images. It’s a workflow that I’ve absolutely fallen in love with, and in many cases it’s the only way to make things look exactly how I want to.

I made a post about it on my BLOG

Rimlight: Standard reflector behind the model pointing at a white wall angled at the subject on the left.

Added the BG in post.

CK Subtle II

CK Subtle II

For this shoot, pretty much EVERYTHING went wrong. I forgot the thingy to attach my camera to the tripod, didn't have the right cables for the radio triggers, and the studio didn't have the equipment I was expecting (and relying on). I thought about postponing the whole shoot, but there was no way I could make time for another shoot, and I had to deliver the watch the next day before 5 AM.

I had to improvise.

I increased the ISO, decreased the aperture and shutterspeed, and came up with a whole new concept. This way I was able to use the modelling light.

I'm happy with how it turned out after all :)
