On Jan 15, 2011, my friend, Nisha, went letterboxing with her boyfriend. The box they were hunting was a blue diamond recently planted by one of her favorite local carvers, The Alchemist.

What Nisha didn't know was that the box stamp was actually a marriage proposal and that I had flown out from NYC to help plant the box and take pics. All the local letterboxers pitched in. Deniserows made a fabulous logbook, GreenTortuga arranged for the box to show up on atlasquest.com and like it had been found by several others, and all the other letterboxers were thrilled just to have a chance to meet and greet.

That's Nisha and Harmit, sitting on a rock and looking at the stamp and proposal. I was hidden behind a boulder, waves coming up to my thighs, and cursing myself for not packing my 100mm lens. Never again will I pack light when it comes to camera gear.

It was a fabulous, magical proposal and weekend made even better by all the help and love contributed by the SF letterboxers. You guys are AMAZING!! I LOVE YOU!
