Super Moon Superimposed on Seattle

    Newer Older

I photographed the Super Moon and superimposed it on Seattle's skyline. Each was shot from the same location a few minutes apart. I was at a party and over heard someone say it would be neat if the moon could be moved closer to the Space Needle. I said, "I can do that!" And here it is.

Nice - w/o you saying so I wouldn't have known it was a fake (though some of your commenters would probably have caught on ;) Really well done though.

Je suis impressionnée ! C'est une très belle prise. Voir cette grosse boule et les gratte-ciel à côté c'est très intéressant. Félicitation !

"Wouldn't it be neat . . . " and then it's done, just like that. Wishes do come true. :) Beautiful!

Instant Fav indeed. Nice overlay of two photos. We Seattleites love to see our city make the news - and your photo put us on the map with the buzz feed pictures of the Super Moon. www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/beautiful-pictures-of-the-supermo... Thank you @phlewght for sharing the full Moon dates, you are spot on with the directions. I find it easier to mark the setting Sun against our Olympics from the city looking West - hitting its farthest South point at Winter solstice and most Northern point at Summer solstice. Fun to watch throughtout the year against our beautiful Olympic mountain range. Special Note: Remember that June 15, 2011 is an eclipse. Be careful on eclipses and make sure you have good footing before taking those photos! The Indian tradition suggests staying in on eclipse nights. Looking forward to more Moon pictures for all.

Thank you all, my kind Flickr friends! I'm glad that the compositing of two images didn't spoil it for you.

Thanks for the buzz feed link! I had no idea my photo was added to this image gallery. Fantastic!

Did you take the Seattle shot? Where was it taken from?

    18. metadata man 13 months ago | reply

Yes, I did take and composite the Seattle photo from Magnolia.

Excellent shot!! Wha? Wait? What? composite? God did not put Seattle in the perfect place for the shot? Lack of planning on his part.. Good thing we have talented photographers who care about such things..
