How Are The Rock Cakes, Honey?

I like your addition!!
How Are The Rock Cakes, Honey? by Meremail.
Have you heard it said. We hadn't until 6 months ago.

Glass top tables in Australia can self destruct when you least expect it, but mostly around winter time.

This happened about lunch time. Luckily no one was using it.

It could have been the rock cakes between the frame. Who knows?

Well, that doesn't look fun...but at least no one got hurt, and it was gum glass. Try the mrshmallow treats next time :)

WoW! A table that self-destructs! That must cost more than the ones that just silently rust away.

I'd never heard of rock cakes. My education for the day. I bet that was a fun mess to clean up.

The famous glass table bit the dust but went out with a bang :-(( You are most fortunate someone was not sitting at it.

Sshh Greg. You're the only one that knows I added the rock cakes.
I am guessing this is consistent with certain weather conditions and glass made in China. Most outdoor furniture now comes from China.

When I called my insurance company, the claims lady did the intro and said "This is Krystal, How may I help you" and I said "Well you have a name that matches the problem for a start" As soon as I started to tell her the story, she said something "Ah another one"

Well Jim...for a start you shouldn't pass the Rockcakes by throwing them over the balcony....You place them GENTLY on the table;-)

I'm impressed though....will insurance pay for it?? And did "Krystal" laugh at your joke;-)

Never thought of that. At least you know what a rock cake is.
I have lodge a claim for insurance and expect it to proceed but they only pay for the table so what do I do with 6 chairs from a setting different to the table?

Krystal did see the irony but being in a call centre isn't allowed to express humour or enjoyment, as YOU know.

Tell the insurance company that the chairs are ruined by the glass fragments and glass powder embedded in the seats and your guests will cut themselves. (And sue you, which will necessitate a claim against your insurance policy for the damages.) But truly, it's hard to get that sort of glass out of mesh like that. We had window breakage from vandalism and our insurance company REPLACED our couches and living room carpeting, without our even asking for it.

Cool picture, though!
