In The Groove Man

In The Groove Man by Meremail.
Analogue music, also called LP records.

More dynamic range and more entertaining watching the labels go around and around and around and ......

For 7 Days of Shooting, Music Theme.

Love this, agree on the dynamic range. I used to do testing and production of MC cartridges and got introduced to some high tech gear and interesting people. One famous one had a home studio and got me to listen to classic music while switching from digital to analogue...something I will never forget. Unfortunately, I can't afford that setup

A collectors item. I wonder how many of the younger generation recognize this. Still the best music.

Far better than digital downloads don't you think! I have loads in the loft but nothing to play them on! Great take on the theme.

I've got at least 100 or these. My only complaint is the small scratchy noises from dust---even after being cleaned with those wonderful velvet thingies. I'll hold on to our turntable for about as long as it lasts...oh yeah, nice shot with good composition :-)

I'm wondering how many broken records we'll see for the Tatty Thursday theme. My kids may not know what a record looks like (even though we have a few of them and a functional player to put them on), but they get told often enough that they sound like a broken one! :)

Great capture.

I've got 10 boxes of vinyl albums we moved here from Philadelphia. They are an albatross--we don't play them anymore yet we can't get rid of them. Nice shot, Jim.

Ain't No Stopping Us Now, Gotta Get You Into My Life, I Love The Night Life, Heaven Must Have Sent You, Boogie Oogie Oogie...? I'm guessing you're a closset 70's disco fan Jim? Hey I'm dancing just looking at the picture! "Morag, where's my white suit and my disco ball?"

Nicely done BTW.

Janet - Can I come and rummage through your old vinyl??

Great photo!

I was just chatting to a mate on the weekend about how theraputic the actual ritual of setting up then playing an old LP can be.

Agree on the dynamic range. However, I don't miss having to get up every 20 or so minutes to change sides.

I've no LP's left at all, but remember them well. It's hard to imagine we've come so far, from having "records" to being able to download to our tiny little IPods and having no discs at all.
A nice shot :)

I miss the vinyl stuff... like Borderscot the words etched into the centre were brill. Now u have to listen for hidden tracks on cds - just not the same somehow.

Reckon Deebee did well with the song titles!
