Falling with grace

I tried for days to get a falling leaf properly focused.....FINALLY!! Wish it had been a red one, but beggars can't be choosers!

Hahaha... yeah, last week I've been holding a leaf into a cam for half an hour, too. My left arm is still a bit sore. :p

I took a picture of a leaf in midair but I cheated: I found one that had been caught in a spider web on its way down.

this leaf is fantastic, even if it's not your awaited red one! such a brown rusted color is just an ideal match for the background, and it's so beautifully curled.

This is outstanding....truly incredible! The lighting, the focus, the background...it is all working together, and I actually really like the brown leaf versus a red one! AWESOME!

Much better than mine. The shape of the leaf is intriguing and I love the way the light works in the background. I just wish we could see that stem is detached.

This dying leaf dances it's last to elven music that swirls between the trees.

what in the heck? whoa! gawd, how long did you wait to get this photo?

    41. Memotions (79 months ago | reply)

I really had quite a bit of fun with this photo. I decided it was not prudent to be running around the front yard chasing leaves for the amusement of the neighbours, so I did my leaf stalking in the woods near our cottage.....where noone but the wildlife could see the antics. It took me about an hour to finally get a shot I liked. There had been a heavy frost the night before and there was a light breeze, so the leaves were falling like rain. The trick was to catch one at just the right angle!

This pic makes me wanna... put on dark eye make up and part my hair in the middle and wear a medieval dress and go swanning through the forest auditioning for 'Lord of the Rings'. Or something like that.
